The Global Resource Catalogue

“African Initiatives’ Global Resource Catalogue is an invaluable resource for all staff working in schools and with young people.”
Helen Heap, Ashley Down Infants School

Resources

The Global Resource Catalogue caters for all your Global needs. It provides clear, accessible information about the resources that African Initiatives holds in the Global Resource Centre. These resources are mapped out into Key Stages and clarify cross curricular links.

Community Database

There is an exhaustive and comprehensive database of Community Organisations and individuals that can support you, your group or your school with artists, resources; workshops; training and ideas in how to approach development education and integrate it into your planning and delivery. It shows you where resources are held across the Bristol area and how you can make best use of them.

Regular Updates

We also provide updates every three months that focus on a particular theme or event and help you make the most out of local and topical opportunities to include the Global Dimension. In the past these have included Abolition 200, Ramadan and Fair trade Fortnight to name but a few. Included is relevant background information; lesson plans; ideas for fun and accessible activities; useful websites and any events or workshops that are going on in the South West.

These updates of knowledge and briefings on current issues increase your confidence and understanding about topical events and ideas that matter to the world today.

Good Practice

We are also hoping to develop a Good Practice section to the catalogue where teachers, educators and organisations share ideas and activities that have worked well for them.

To contribute to this section, or if you have any further queries concerning the Global Resource Catalogue, please contact Val at the details below.
