Global Schools |
|||
One of the objectives of the 2008 Curriculum is for students in all schools to become “global citizens” and have the skills, knowledge and understanding to contribute to a world society. African Initiatives’ Global Schools Project aims to establish a network of centres of good practice for global citizenship across Bristol and South Glos. It is planned to run over three years and was launched in June 2006. Beginning with two primary and two secondary schools we intend to work with 4 schools each year to support them in integrating the global dimension across their curriculum. Each school will then be able to share their good practice within formal and informal partnerships throughout the region. Some of the measures within the project include attitude audits, library audits, training audits, and curriculum development. African Initiatives’ Development Education Coordinator Tim Anfield is managing the project with the support of volunteers. If you would like further information about Global Schools please give Tim a call and if you are interested in volunteering on please contact Val. Val Bishop Tim Anfield |
